I recently visited Football Pizza and honestly, it is one of the best pizza places I’ve ever been to.
Football Pizza isn’t your traditional Italian pizzeria, it’s an Afghani pizza in the shape of, you guessed it, a football. This restaurant serves all kinds of drinks and other goodies, but it’s most popularly known for is its pizza. In fact, in 2016 Football Pizza won Best Pizza in Minnesota! It is currently among the top 15 pizza places in Minneapolis too.
Something else, that makes this pizza stand out from other pizza places is the cilantro/ mint chutney that it is served with. This chutney is similar to the mint chutney that is served at Indian restaurants and it goes nicely with the pizza.
The pizzas come in two different sizes. The small (14″) varies in price from $8 to $11, while the large (24″) is between $14 to $21.
So, what’s the low-down on this pizza?
Crust: The pizza has a thin crust, but that crust is able to support all of the toppings, so it’s pretty amazing.
Sauce: There is an ample supply of sauce applied on the pizza, but not too much that it drips everywhere.
Cheese: The cheese used is very chewy and stringy. Since it’s freshly made, the cheese will burn your tongue. Proceed with caution while eating.
Overall, I’d give this place 4.5/5 stars.
